Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo is built on an open-concept design where moats and natural barriers replace most cages, letting animals roam in enclosures modelled on their native habitats.

It's open 8.30am to 6pm daily, last ticket sale 5.30pm, and the Rainforest Fragile Forest walk-through and the free-ranging orangutan areas are among its best-known exhibits. It sits inside Mandai Wildlife Reserve next to Night Safari and River Wonders, so multi-park tickets are the standard way to save money when visiting more than one park on the same trip.

Feeding times and keeper talks run through the day on a published schedule, and timing a visit around two or three of them makes for a noticeably better day than walking straight through.

★ WORTH KNOWING

The zoo's tram service saves a lot of walking across what is a genuinely large site, but it doesn't stop everywhere — check the tram map at the entrance and plan feeding-time stops around where it actually goes, rather than assuming it reaches every enclosure.

Ticket resellers earn a commission on what they sell you. We sell nothing, so here is the operator's own price — compare before you buy.

for Singapore Zoo admission, straight from the operator's own price table.

Anything above S$49 is a markup. A reseller can be genuinely cheaper — some run below the gate price to win the booking — but you now know which side of the line you are on. Check the total at checkout, not the headline.

the thing that ruins more Singapore days than anything else

Rain, heat, and what to do about it

Live readings and forecasts from NEA. Four days is the limit — past that, nobody is forecasting, they are showing you an average.

Live — NEA · weather window Checking with NEA…
Beyond four days · August on a 30-year average

    Southwest Monsoon

    June to September

    Rain drier than average

Short, sharp early-morning showers and occasional squall lines. Drier overall than the northeast wet phase.

The other good window. Rain tends to arrive early and clear, leaving usable afternoons. This is also when haze can occur, which is worth checking rather than assuming.
