Mandai Wildlife West is the part of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve you can walk into without buying anything.
Mandai Wildlife West itself costs nothing. It is a dog-friendly precinct of boardwalks, waterfalls, three playgrounds, dining and shopping, listed under Mandai's own "free to visit" heading, and parking is free from 6pm. The ticketed park inside it is Rainforest Wild Adventure.
Rainforest Wild Asia has been renamed Rainforest Wild Adventure. Older guides and some school-programme links still use the old name — it is the same park.
Rainforest Wild Adventure's current prices are an opening special that started on 6 May 2026 and Mandai describes as "for a limited time only". Expect them to rise without much notice.
Covered shoes are compulsory for Rainforest Wild Adventure. Sandals will be turned away, which is a real problem if you have walked over from the free precinct.
Mandai calls it one of its free-to-visit spaces, and it fronts the Bird Paradise entrance while linking through to Rainforest Wild Asia, so it doubles as the arrival plaza for two ticketed parks. The centrepiece is the Waterfall Cavern, a 10-metre cascade modelled on Indonesia's Madakaripura falls, with a path that climbs behind the water curtain — you come out damp, which on a Singapore afternoon is the point.
Alongside it are three themed play areas, Pangolin Adventure and Pangolin Hideout for burrowing and climbing plus the Forest Stream Trail, and a dining and retail deck holding Starbucks, Collin's, Copper Chimney, Old Chang Kee Coffeehouse, A&W, Han's Union, a gelato bar and a Cheers convenience store. It opens daily from 7am to 10:30pm and it is dog-friendly, which very little else in the reserve is.
This is the cheapest good half-day in the north of Singapore: entry is free, the playgrounds are free, and parking is free from 6pm to midnight — so an early-evening visit costs nothing but the bus fare. Two things worth knowing. The Mandai Wildlife Bridge overhead is for animals only, not a walkway, so don't plan a crossing on it. And because the West deck is the queue-and-arrival area for Bird Paradise, it is busiest mid-morning when the park opens — come after 5pm and you get the waterfall and the play areas close to empty, with the food outlets still running.
Walking in is free. Rainforest Wild Adventure is a separate ticket, and one ticket covers both its West and East zones. Flip the stubs to your rate; every price includes the resident lines most sites leave out.
Mandai calls this the tourist price — its own heading reads "Admission Prices for Non-Residents".
The two guided Black Adventures — Wild Apex and Wild Cavern — cost extra on top. Covered shoes are compulsory.

S$55
for Rainforest Wild Adventure (West and East zones), straight from the operator's own price table.
Anything above S$55 is a markup. A reseller can be genuinely cheaper — some run below the gate price to win the booking — but you now know which side of the line you are on. Check the total at checkout, not the headline.

S$13.75/hr
S$55 for Rainforest Wild Adventure (West and East zones) over about 4 hours, or S$12.50/hr at the resident rate. Our estimate across both zones with the Adventure+ activities. Mandai publishes no recommended duration. The duration is our estimate, not the operator's.
Live readings and forecasts from NEA. Four days is the limit — past that, nobody is forecasting, they are showing you an average.
Southwest Monsoon
June to September
Short, sharp early-morning showers and occasional squall lines. Drier overall than the northeast wet phase.
The other good window. Rain tends to arrive early and clear, leaving usable afternoons. This is also when haze can occur, which is worth checking rather than assuming.
Straight-line distance from the three places a visitor has already heard of.
