Four things to know first

NOTE — TO 31 MAR 2028

The footpath below the Therapeutic Garden at Telok Blangah Hill Park is closed until 31 March 2028 for slope works — take the NParks alternative route.

NOTE

Do not enter the Forest Walk earth trail after 7pm.

NOTE

A hilly ten kilometres with long unshaded stretches and very few drink stalls between HortPark and Kent Ridge. Carry water and start early — most people attempt it in the midday heat.

NOTE

It is point-to-point, not a loop. Plan the bus or MRT back from wherever you finish.

It links Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge Park through a series of bridges and boardwalks, the best known being Henderson Waves — a wave-shaped timber footbridge 36m above Henderson Road, the highest pedestrian bridge in the country. The parks and their bridges are free and open around the clock, so there is nothing to book and no ticket to buy. Most people walk one section rather than the full route: Henderson Waves and the raised Forest Walk are the parts worth the climb, and the ribs of the bridge are lit after dark.

It sits directly above Labrador Nature Reserve and HarbourFront, a short walk from either. Telok Blangah MRT on the Circle line puts you within roughly a 15-minute walk of Henderson Waves via the park path, whereas the HarbourFront MRT approach (Marang Trail up Mount Faber) is longer and steeper — choose the start point by which end you want to finish at.

★ WORTH KNOWING

If Henderson Waves is what you have come for, do not start at HarbourFront — that route makes you climb Mount Faber first. From Telok Blangah MRT it is a much shorter walk up through Telok Blangah Hill Park to the foot of the bridge, from where you can carry on across the Forest Walk and exit at the far end rather than doubling back the way you came.

the thing that ruins more Singapore days than anything else

Rain, heat, and what to do about it

Live readings and forecasts from NEA. Four days is the limit — past that, nobody is forecasting, they are showing you an average.

Live — NEA · weather window Checking with NEA…
Beyond four days · August on a 30-year average

Southwest Monsoon

June to September

Rain drier than average

Short, sharp early-morning showers and occasional squall lines. Drier overall than the northeast wet phase.

The other good window. Rain tends to arrive early and clear, leaving usable afternoons. This is also when haze can occur, which is worth checking rather than assuming.
