It is a working day out rather than a quiet walk-through: most of the exhibits are built to be pushed, pulled or climbed, which is why it fills up with school groups and families. It opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, with last admission at 4.15pm, and closes on Mondays outside the school and public holidays. Admission is ticketed, and the two attractions on the same grounds — the domed Omni-Theatre and the indoor snow hall, Snow City — are sold as separate tickets.
A larger replacement is being built at Jurong Lake Gardens for around 2027, but this site stays open until it is ready, and Jurong Lake Gardens itself is a short bus ride away. From Jurong East MRT take Exit D towards Westgate, drop to level 1 and follow the sheltered walkway past the mall (about eight minutes on foot), or take bus 66 or 335 direct from the bus interchange if you would rather not walk in the heat.
The gap between the tourist and resident price is wide: a standard adult gallery ticket is about $23.90, while Singapore citizens and PRs pay roughly $8 to $12 for a combined Science Centre and Omni-Theatre ticket on production of an NRIC — the lower end is the weekday off-peak rate. Cash is not accepted anywhere on site, so buy online in advance or at the on-site ticketing kiosk before you queue for the galleries.
