Walk-up, with no timed entry. Citizens and PRs buy nothing at all — they present a pink or blue NRIC for scanning. Concessions, free-entry groups and the HSBC card discount are all counter-only, so anyone in those groups should not pre-buy online.

The Singapore History Gallery — the museum's flagship permanent display — is closed for a revamp and reopens in October 2026. Once Upon a Tide and Singapore Odyssea are standing in. The building is also under restoration.
Work Permit and Special Pass holders enter the permanent galleries free on the last Sunday of each month, running until September 2026. Show the permit at the Visitor Services counter.
歷史館每天開放，上午10點到下午6點，最後入場下午5點半；而另外的生活館（Living Galleries）——涵蓋飲食、時尚、電影和攝影——開到晚上8點，且晚6點後免費入場。那座玻璃圓頂是2006年擴建時加上的，是民事區（Civic District）裡最上鏡的市政建築之一。它離新加坡國家美術館和福康寧公園都只有五分鐘腳程。
