Walk-up, with no timed entry. Citizens and PRs buy nothing at all — they present a pink or blue NRIC for scanning. Concessions, free-entry groups and the HSBC card discount are all counter-only, so anyone in those groups should not pre-buy online.

The Singapore History Gallery — the museum's flagship permanent display — is closed for a revamp and reopens in October 2026. Once Upon a Tide and Singapore Odyssea are standing in. The building is also under restoration.
Work Permit and Special Pass holders enter the permanent galleries free on the last Sunday of each month, running until September 2026. Show the permit at the Visitor Services counter.
历史馆每天开放，上午10点到下午6点，最后入场下午5点半；而另外的生活馆（Living Galleries）——涵盖饮食、时尚、电影和摄影——开到晚上8点，且晚6点后免费入场。那座玻璃圆顶是2006年扩建时加上的，是民事区（Civic District）里最上镜的市政建筑之一。它离新加坡国家美术馆和福康宁公园都只有五分钟脚程。
