STB periodically closes the Merlion statue for cleaning, announced in advance through its media centre, and past closures have run about a fortnight. During those windows the statue is scaffolded and the water jet is off. Nobody else warns visitors about this.

它免費、全天開放，濱海灣金沙、CBD天際線和新加坡摩天觀景輪在同一條不長的水岸步道上盡收眼底，這也是它成為全國被拍得最多的那幾百米的原因。主像後面還立著一尊更小的魚尾獅幼崽像。公園直接連著螺旋橋和青年奧林匹克橋（Jubilee Bridge），兩座都是通往濱海灣金沙那一側的步行橋。
