STB periodically closes the Merlion statue for cleaning, announced in advance through its media centre, and past closures have run about a fortnight. During those windows the statue is scaffolded and the water jet is off. Nobody else warns visitors about this.

它免费、全天开放，滨海湾金沙、CBD天际线和新加坡摩天观景轮在同一条不长的水岸步道上尽收眼底，这也是它成为全国被拍得最多的那几百米的原因。主像后面还立着一尊更小的鱼尾狮幼崽像。公园直接连着螺旋桥和青年奥林匹克桥（Jubilee Bridge），两座都是通往滨海湾金沙那一侧的步行桥。
