The menu is seasonal and changes through the year, so expect the line-up to move.
The name points to transformation, and the cooking follows: not literal Korean dishes but a personal reinterpretation of Kim's Korean upbringing filtered through his international training, served as a single seasonal tasting menu. The Korean references are quiet — in seasoning, form and texture rather than on the plate as such.
Sun Kim was born in Busan and raised in Seoul, where his mother ran a gamja-tang restaurant, before moving to Sydney at 26 to cook under Tetsuya Wakuda and later at Waku Ghin in Singapore. He opened Meta in November 2015 at the age of 31.
At 9 Mohamed Sultan Road in River Valley, near the Singapore River, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay, Fort Canning and UE Square. Fort Canning MRT is about a six-minute walk; buses 32, 54, 139 and 195 stop at UE Square.

Cool, composed and design-conscious — black awnings, concrete floors and glass, more polished than the original Keong Saik room. Smart casual dress. Children seven and over only, and everyone does the full tasting.
Meta opened in Keong Saik in November 2015, won its first star in 2017, moved to Mohamed Sultan Road in July 2024 and took its second star that year, holding both in 2026.
A destination meal for travellers who want contemporary Asian fine dining with a distinct personal story rather than familiar Korean food — well suited to couples, food-focused visitors and special occasions. Not a casual or budget stop.
