what to order

Signature dishes

  • Caviar on angel-hair pasta — the longstanding house signature.
  • Lobster rouelle — a classic of the menu.
  • Loctudy langoustine with Château d'Estoublon olive-oil emulsion.
  • Sea-urchin soufflé with tarragon, dill and crustacean sauce.
  • Baba with aged agricole rum among Cheryl Koh's desserts.

The menu moves with the season and what is available, so treat these as representative.

The concept

The name means "the friends," and the restaurant was founded by friends bound by a love of French culture and cooking. The idea is to present a full picture of France — ingredient, craft, wine and personalised service together — in an elegant, modern, ingredient-led room rather than simply to plate French food.

The chef

The kitchen is led by French chef Sébastien Lepinoy, who has been at Les Amis since 2013 after seventeen years with the late Joël Robuchon, including in Hong Kong, and is known for exacting technique and prized seasonal produce flown in from France. Pastry is run by Cheryl Koh, named Asia's Best Pastry Chef in 2016, with a wine team headed by chef sommelier Baptiste Tomasi.

Getting there

In the Orchard Road shopping and hotel district, on the ground floor of Shaw Centre at 1 Scotts Road, #01-16, opposite the HSBC Tanglin branch. Orchard MRT (North-South and Thomson-East Coast lines) is about a five-minute walk.

Prices

A special-occasion, high-end restaurant. The 2026 menu runs to a three-course lunch around S$325 and four courses around S$415, with the full tasting menu at S$585 per person and wine pairings at S$160 or S$390. Prices are before service charge and GST, and can change — confirm the live menu.

How to book

Reserve through the official page or by email at [email protected]; parties of six or more go through the concierge directly. There is no fixed booking window, but plan two to four weeks ahead and earlier for Friday, Saturday or festive dates. For tables of five or fewer, cancelling within 48 hours costs S$250++ per guest; groups of six-plus are charged the full menu at confirmation.

Opening hours

Lunch daily from noon (last seating 1:15pm) and dinner daily from 7:00pm (last seating 8:15pm). Not regularly closed, but check public-holiday operations.

The room & dress

Elegant, polished and modern. The dress code is smart casual: long trousers and covered shoes for men, chic and polished for women, and no shorts or flip-flops for anyone.

A little history

Les Amis opened on 15 March 1994 as Singapore's first independent fine-dining restaurant, founded by Desmond Lim, Dr Chong Yap Seng, chef Justin Quek and sommelier-restaurateur Ignatius Chan. It took two stars in the inaugural 2016 guide, was promoted to three in 2019, and has held them since; it sits at No. 38 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026.

Who it’s for

The pick for travellers who want formal, traditional French luxury with a deep wine list and attentive service — a milestone dinner, a Francophile's priority, and one of just three three-star tables in Singapore this year. Not for tight budgets, local-flavour seekers or a spontaneous casual meal.
