NParks puts it plainly: the Gardens are free entry for everyone, every day. That covers the lawns, the lakes, the Rain Forest and the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden. The one place inside you pay for is the National Orchid Garden.

主園區上午5點到午夜開放、免費入場，園內的國家胡姬花園（National Orchid Garden）則單獨收費（上午8點半到晚上7點，末班票下午6點停售），種有一千多種胡姬花原生種和雜交種，其中好幾種以來訪的外國政要命名。園區內還有雅各巴拉斯兒童花園（Jacob Ballas Children's Garden），是專為12歲以下兒童設的遊樂區，週一閉園。它位於烏節路靠東陵（Tanglin）的一端，從購物街坐一小段公交或步行20分鐘就到。
清早、8點以前，是園子最安靜、也最涼快的散步時段，而且這也是最常在天鵝湖（Swan Lake）附近看到常駐水獺一家的時候——趕在5點一開門就到有點過頭，但8點前來確實大不一樣。
