通往清真寺的步行街 Bussorah Street 两旁排满咖啡馆和店铺，卖香水、布料和中东食物；隔一条街的哈芝巷（Haji Lane）则以画满壁画的店面和独立时装小店出名。这里没有统一的开放时间，因为整片都是各家独立经营的生意，但多数店铺和咖啡馆从上午晚些时候开到傍晚；清真寺本身则要求访客穿着得体，并避开礼拜时段进入。它紧挨着小印度，往东北走大约15分钟。

苏丹清真寺在每天五次礼拜时段对游客关闭，最容易扑空的是周五中午前后——如果你是想进清真寺里面看，而不只是在外面拍照，先查一下当天的礼拜时间。
