Bugis to Gardens by the Bay, free & easy

Staying in Bugis — a popular budget-hotel and street-shopping area in the city core? Here's the whole trip, door to gate: the train, where to sit tight, the exit, and the real walk.

From Bugis, take the Downtown Line 2 stops direct to Bayfrontno change. Then Exit B and about a 11-min walk (0.9 km) to Gardens by the Bay.

Leg 1 — the train

DT Downtown Line no change ~5 min · 2 stops
  1. DT14 Bugis — board here
  2. DT15 Promenade
  3. DT16 Bayfront — alight here

Train time is an estimate (~2.5 min/stop incl. stops); trains run every 2–5 min, so add a short wait.

Leg 2 — the walk

The coral line is the real pedestrian path from Bayfront Exit B to Gardens by the Bay — not a straight line.

Take Exit B and follow the underground linkway, then take the lift or stairs up and cross the Dragonfly Bridge (or Meadow Bridge) into the gardens — about a 13-minute walk. It's the route Gardens by the Bay itself recommends, and the sheltered linkway beats baking on the surface roads. Insider tip: if you're heading for the eastern gardens, the newer Gardens by the Bay MRT (TE22, Thomson–East Coast Line) Exit 1 can drop you closer than Bayfront.
